Kapsejlads
Bekking og Dolmer på en Grand Soleil.

Hvad sejler Bouwe Bekking og Jens Dolmer for tiden?

Svar: De keder sig ikke. De sejler på store både ude i verden. Fx Heineken Regatta i en Grand Soleil og senere Farr40-sejlads. I denne uge er de to i Caribien. Læs Bekkings update på engelsk.

Just a short update what Jens Dolmer and myself have been up to.

Heineken regatta we finished 3rd with Antilope. It was a bit sour, as the one up/down race we had a healthy lead on handicap, when the committee cancelled, because the mark was drifting and no M flag on the mark boat, that cost us the regatta.

Jens as always was rock solid in the pit. When the pit works well it reflects positive on everybody onboard. (I did tactics)

Farr 40 is still going strong

I sailed last week on Barking Mad Farr40 in Miami, finished 2nd overall. First day was "drama", blowing 25-30 knots , loosing out with maneuverers, we were the only ones who had not been able to practice.

The following days we picked up the performance, so happy with 2nd place. The Farr40 still provides the best one design racing you can get in this size of boats.

Another Dane was sailing: Mikkel Rossberg was trimming on Asterisk Uno.

Future races

Next week go with Jens to St. Thomas for the Rolex event, immediately followed by the BVI spring regatta onboard Antilope. The BVI is immediately followed by Voile de St. Barth onboard Nilaya (Baltic 112).

Then a couple of days later to Palma Vela onboard Lionheart (new build) J-class.

Take care, cheers,

Bouwe
