Bekking og Dolmer kæmper på 44 meter J-båd på Menorca

Lionheart took today’s race win, followed by Ranger in second and Hanuman in third. Bouwe Bekking, skipper of Lionheart, was pleased to start his regatta with a win.

 “It can’t be better than that!” he said on the dock after racing.

“It was petty light, but very sailable, with about 7-10 knots of breeze. And those were some pretty big waves out there, but the owner did a really great job on the helm, we were very pleased.”

Lionheart and Ranger had a close duel on the first upwind leg, until Lionheart nosed ahead to round the first mark in the lead.

“We were pretty close together over there, it was good,” added Bekking.
